Client Information - Facial Skin Peels & Neck, Decolletage and back peels
A range of chemical peels is available for the treatment of ageing, sun damaged skin, irregular pigmentation, superficial blemishes and spot prone skin. The result is a reduction in the appearance of fine lines, improved skin tone and texture, with minimal to moderate peeling of the skin depending on the type of peel administered. With all peels, medical grade skin care is provided and it is mandatory to wear sun protection as advised by the practitioner.
What is a skin peel?
A skin peel involves the application of a chemical to gently exfoliate the upper layer of the skin, increase collagen stimulation and improve moisture retention.
How do I know what peel to have?
Your Practitioner will advise you following assessment of your skin and discussion about the degree of improvement desired, the time to achieve it and the acceptable amount of peeling.
Will my skin fall off?
No, we do not administer deep peels. The amount of peeling experienced with our peels ranges from none at all to flaking or peeling similar to that experienced after sunburn.
Are there any possible negative reactions to a skin peel?
They can possibly cause an acne flair due to deep pore cleansing, an acne like inflammation around the mouth and transient spots or hyper pigmentation. These conditions usually resolve themselves if left untreated.
What are the limits of skin peels?
Skin peels cannot lift loose sagging skin or remove deep scars
Can anyone have a skin peel?
No, some conditions make it unsafe to have a peel, such as eczema, dermatitis, auto immune disease, cold sores, use of Roaccutaine or other oral retinoids within the past 6 months.
Can you sun bathe or use a sun bed following a peel?
No, direct sun exposure should be avoided and use of sun beds is prohibited as these may cause unintended changes in the skin.
